Societal initiative — Accelerating the path to carbon neutrality

Put the carbon back where it belongs.

ZeroCarbonSquad develops deployment projects for CO₂ capture and reuse technologies.

Understanding carbon capture, storage and valorisation

01Emission sources

Industry, energy and transport release large flows of CO₂ continuously. The first step is to precisely identify these sources, to act where emissions are most concentrated.

02Capture at the source

Before it reaches the atmosphere, CO₂ is captured directly within industrial processes — using solvents, membranes or filters — then purified.

03Storage

Captured CO₂ is conditioned in gaseous or liquid form — ready to be valorised directly, or kept as a resource pending its use.

04Valorisation & recycling

Rather than being released, CO₂ becomes a raw material — e-methane, e-fuels or direct industrial uses. Carbon then enters a circular, low-carbon cycle.

The problem

Carbon is building up in the atmosphere faster than nature can absorb it.

Today, our emissions reach ~40 billion tonnes per year, while the planet's absorption capacity is completely saturated.

Faced with this global challenge, technological capture and the deployment of industrial projects are no longer options: they are the essential levers to restore balance and reach carbon neutrality.

Methanation.

Capture the CO₂

CO₂ is isolated at the source on partner industrial sites. Instead of being released, it becomes a raw material.

Captured CO₂ → raw material
Produce low-carbon H₂

H₂ produced by electrolysis of water, powered by renewable electricity.

Water electrolysis
The CO₂ + H₂ reaction

In a catalytic or biological reactor, CO₂ and H₂ recombine into synthetic methane (CH₄).

Molecular recombination
Valorise the e-methane

Identical to natural gas but from a circular carbon cycle, it is injected into existing grids: district heating or bio-CNG.

What immediately spoke to me is the technical yet accessible approach. No hollow marketing talk. With methanation, CO₂ is valorised into local energy by relying on infrastructure that already exists. It's pure industrial common sense.

Finally an environmental project that's transparent, with no false promises or virtual technologies. ZeroCarbonSquad's approach is pragmatic: it's industrial, it's measurable, and it creates value right at the heart of our regions.

We often talk about transition, but rarely about scalable solutions. ZeroCarbonSquad delivers a concrete answer by de-risking viable industrial projects. It's exactly the kind of rigorous initiative we need to move from words to action.
